so sad. And most of the law deans of the big 'prestigious' law schools would not sign a petition against how Trump is treating law firms, sponsored by Dean Chemerinsky of UC Berkeley. a leading constitutional scholar. Sadder ...

We’re really learning a lot about the courage and convictions of people we have in leadership positions

Are we ever! I'm wondering (not for the first time) whether and how "democracy" is covered in the curricula of top law schools. Is it considered a bedrock principle of the U.S., or is it mostly something you have to know so you can get around it on behalf of your clients? About the universities -- what's the academic background of top administrators (e.g., do they have degrees in humanities and/or the social sciences as well as MBAs?), and how has the ongoing emphasis on STEM (science, tech, engineering, etc.) and de-emphasis on the humanities affected who's doing what at the upper administrative levels?

This is a frightening, succinct summary of what the “King” is doing to our country. Thanks for laying it out.

Arizona just allowed law firms to be owned by non-lawyers, clearing the way for private equity to buy the ownership of the existing partners, generally older. It was all about money on the sale. We will see.

Most have always known that the legal profession is that of Paladins who will fight for whomever pays them the most. Thus, those with the most money will almost always win.

One of the biggest problems in the US. Patently unfair.
