"A Trump re-election 'won’t be the end of the world, one unnamed CEO told CNBC." / The unnamed CEO may be wrong; it may be the end of the world as many of us know it. My only consolation about the insane followers of Trump is that they have not seen the consequences of riding their chosen horse. I must admit that something I've longed hoped is not true IS true -- and that is "The love of money is the root of all evil."
Fun Fact: Bayer pharmaceuticals was also the inventor—and namer—of their trademark product, “Heroin,” described among addiction specialists as, “The greatest trademark of all time.” Kind of jives with their Zyklon-B product, only slower-acting. Think Purdue Pharma in the US these days.
“Profit over People” also applies to Boeing and their subsidiaries and subcontractors with the 737 Max issues. See a trend here? I sure do. This upcoming election may be the last opportunity we have to stave off the Calculating Machines in our lifetime.
Thank you for another gem! I appreciate particularly your slam on cruise ships, one of the worst things for our environment and one which few mention. And of course the banksters et al who have been masquerading as innocent for decades deserve every bit of your criticism.
Jamie Dimon is CEO of JP Morgan-Chase. Can you please correct? Because people need to know that their local bank is working against their interests! Morgan-Stanley is an entirely different company. Which really is not commonly known or used by most Americans.
Masterfully crafted piece Nina! The Citizens United ruling has certainly led us to the Weimar-America, with a little guidance and push from the Mafioso ( Deep State)... you are a gem Nina!!

Correct, big Pharma, is part of the Culling Industrial Complex, like big Agriculture, big Transportation...sh#t, it’s just big C...capitalism.
@ Tom Quigley: Yep; “Weimar America.” Zyklon-B is just a faster-acting improvement on Heroin, like Twitter vs. X with Musk at the helm.
They are travelling on the back of a demented tiger. Who is a traitor to this country. As those industrialists did then.
I've been making comparisons for years now. They're follow the same game plan as the nazi's did BECAUSE that's who they are.
Not even trying to hide it
Picking up dropped jaw from floor.
I’ve been worried we are Weimar America……Thank you.

It's hard not to get discouraged when corporate greed, political opportunism, and willful blindness take precedence over democratic values.
Your expertly written piece reminds us that it's the old historical wheel turning again, but each time history repeats itself, the cost goes up.
I guess the days of JFK's "Ask not what your country can do for you" are long gone.
But thank you, Nina, for waging the battle; you give me hope.
