Impressive work—thank you. I attended a large evangelical church in Silicon Valley in the ‘90s. There was a monthly morning Christian speaker program organized by several men in the church. I recall one of the speakers was Ken Starr. He was creepy then. It was also a dawning realization for me that for many of the church members being a conservative Republican was synonymous with their faith.
So very sad "I kept my underpants on... and the age of consent should be lowered...and presidents should be allowed to do whatever they want" Alan Dershowitz got his case against CNN slapped down. Who you gonna sue for defamation next? Me?
One of your best articles, thanks. I would differ however with the claim that Epstein's lawyers were ever doing honest prosecutorial work against white collar criminals, lower level violent crimes, or the unlucky that got caught, possibly. Human nature doesn't change that dramatically. Even with Sir Richard Rich, he may have seemed to be on the side of good but his true colors came out in the trial of More. And you gotta love the billionaires named "Black", Leon and Conrad. Someone should write a book in the Melville tradition, or Robert Penn Warren about these dark souls.
The Epstein cover up has been going on for decades under BOTH Democrats and Republicans. Rich and powerful sociopaths will ALWAYS protect and lie for each other. It's NOT just a Trump thing. Furthermore, getting rid of Trump and voting in democrats won’t solve anything. Furthermore. If a Democrat were in office, you liberals would be supporting every atrocity here and abroad as you happily support imperialism and fascism when a Democrat is the one selling it to you.
In 2023, former Virgin Islands Attorney General Denise George went to the FBI, w claims that Epstein's lawyer and accountant (Darren K Indyke & Kahn) were participants in Epstein's human trafficking operation. She told the FBI that she had the goods in her case files. She even told the FBI where it was and how to get it , did the FBI follow up on George's complaint or ignore it?
No record of it in the files, yet EFTA mandates it - Indyke and Kahn signed trust checks for combined value of over $1,000,000 made out personally to victims.
"When it comes to the allegations around the money being moved," George said "Defendants Indyke and Kahn participated with Epstein in coercing his sex trafficking victims, in at least three cases.
Darren K Indyke & Richard Kahn have never been interviewed by DOJ or FBI or “any authority “ (both Indyke & Kahn said this in their March 2026 depositions with Congress)
Why in hell are NDAs permitted for anything other than protecting company secrets when an employee changes jobs? There should NEVER be NDAs that conceal information about crimes and corruption.
NDAs that cover crimes aren't confidentiality agreements. They're paid silence contracts with a legal letterhead. The fact that they're enforceable is the scandal inside the scandal.
This has always nagged at me -- lawyers are so taken with the 'principle' that they are fulfilling a holy mission to ensure that every accused person has the best possible defense. They seem to have fully jettisoned any concern over what the accused had actually done; their consciences are clear because they've come to believe that the crimes, no matter how heinous, are irrelevant.
How to resolve this paradox?
I have no legal background, but simple-minded human morality tells me this:
- Defense counsel should NOT be guided by getting the best possible outcome for their client.
- It should be guided by getting the most JUST outcome for society.
Excellent piece!!
F-ing right on. Shitheels all.
Gee whiz golly gosh. Why has Trump appointed Jay Clayton to head NDI???

Isn't that a disease???
WOW! What a tangled web they did weave… Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

Con men.

Am I crazy to think this?
