Thinking about Kierkegaard and how he said people can be fooled both by believing things that are lies, and also by refusing to believe things that are true
When the story came out, it was a crime story, but all the slant was sex, sex, sex. I'm no angel, but as I read further I realized it wasn't about sex really, it was just being marketed that way to draw attention.
I first discovered Nina by reading The Fatal Gift of Beauty: The Italian Trial of Amanda Knox. Somehow I got drawn into the US side of that drama when I found websites devoted to the idea that Amanda Knox was a devil incarnate. After I spent too many hours seeing how far the conspiracists were willing to contort common sense, Nina's book appeared and stated the Occam's Razor version, which I always believed, so clearly.
Then I discovered that she's been doing that for all her professional career.

Lady Justice blindfolding herself from the truth ... once again.
