I would also add that we've entered the Era of Equivocation. There seems to be a rush from the extreme elements to *not* accept the idea that something can be "unequivocal." You'd think it's unequivocal to say that Americans teamed with Communists to defeat Fascists eighty years ago, but in a world that birthed Nick Fuentes we're faced with the Upside Down where Anti-Fascist has become a toxic identifier. And speaking of the Fuentes ilk, it's alarming how hateful nonsense is packaged by smooth sinister talkers who hypnotize audiences into thinking, "Hey, that kinda makes sense!" The nonsensical should never make sense. Again, welcome to the Upside Down.
Reich- “Harsh American capitalism has become unsustainable, politically and economically.”: And environmentally, as noted later. <> I and many others see positive alternatives described by Blake & Giilman in their book, Children Of A Modest Star, similar to former Pope Francis’ 2020 executive sumnary of Querida Amazonia, + the work of The Democracy Collaborative & Marjorie Kelly’s book, Wealth Supremacy. Doug Tallamy, author of Nature’s Best Hope & creator of Tallamy’s Hub - Homegrown National Park; something that blends well with large sustainable infrastructure like massively built out green infrastructure, regenerative economy initiatives that incorporate edaphology to restore soil health, and much more that’s practical now but unfunded. We could be looking hyper-local, restoring civil society based on the geography of drainage basins. We need to build new paradigms for living independent of fake reality tv producers running fascist mafia state hegemony & dipshits like Peter Thiel, lately busy trying to paint Greta Thunberg as the Antichrist. Fuck em all.
Great piece. I wish I knew the answers too. The last thing I want to see is live ammunition used on desperate people on the streets, but I feel like there's a faction of "progressives" who see this as inevitable and are (almost) cheering this on. I was really glad the "No Kings" rally remained peaceful and made its stand more with whimsy and absurdism and contrasting that with the gestapo-like tactics of ICE and Trump. I don't want to believe that things will ever have to "eventually" devolve into an actual violent confrontation, but it certainly seems like our elected officials are closing off any means of doing this peacefully with their craven capitulations and their insistence of valuing their donors over an enraged base. It really seems like no one in government, of either party, understands just how angry people are who AREN'T in the MAGA cult... partly because they have absolutely no interest in the rest of us. They're too busy wringing their hands over the feelings of racist, sexist, entitled white people in the middle of the country who mainline Fox News and believe absolute nonsense about the majority of Americans who don't live in their states. Meanwhile, the rest of us get angrier and angrier, and no one bothers to ask us what we think. We're just faceless, nameless "antifa" if they bother to look at us at all, or assumed to be somehow "un-American" because we have the gall to live in cities or on one of the two coasts. All of this delusional ideology about "farmers" and the "real American" and blah-blah-blah is just exhausting. Meanwhile, what is the breaking point? What does that look like? I wonder about this a lot. I hope it's a major tax revolt and/or general strikes, and cutting off their $$, and not what Trump wants it to be, which is an excuse to kill a lot of us.

I don't know in which direction John Brown would have been facing from the gallows, but he must have had excellent eyesight to be "looking over the Kansas landscape" when he uttered his last words -- since he would have been standing in Charles Town, VA (now Charlestown, WV), a mere thousand miles away from any Kansas landscape.
Ah, I should have guessed. Her 2011 book From Transgender to Transhuman gave me the impression that Rothblatt does not see much need or opportunity to improve current technologies for medical transition.

Exactly. And there's money in it for the little goblins who perpetuate it. See this excellent Reuters investigation into the influencers working with Trump disinformation team. https://www.reuters.com/investigations/trump-20-maga-aligned-influencers-media-emerge-new-mainstream-2025-11-08/
Nina, you're on fire with this one! Outstanding!
Thank you and thanks for reading!
I always love reading your work; thank you.
Well done. We always hope for Change, but then refuse to change ourselves. Which ultimately is the only change we can control.

You are correct, and I’ve corrected.
Great piece, but who is this trans pharma queen? Our community has certain needs for which pharma has the means....
Martine Rothblatt

No equivocation!
