In trying to get through to Trumpsters, we have to first think of how to overcome their resistance to hear anything from “lefty Trump haters.”
In teaching college English—the argument essay—I always said we start off with a point of agreement. Then we state the problem. Then we suggest solutions. We end by picking OUR solution and demonstrate why that would be the best of the solutions.
I don’t know if this can be applied to communicating with trumpsters. Perhaps someone with more patience than I possess could try.
Why else would they fork over $399 for knock off sneakers not shipping until July(if they ever really do); or buy a piece of his booking suit? While criminal conviction might break the cult and criminal proceedings may not finish before the election, we can start the deconstruction with civil verdicts and penalties. The house of cards based on Trump’s feelings about valuec(per Tim O’Brien) wasn’t constructed in a day, so it won’t come down immediately; but we must start! Also, a question; any possibility of Zoom meetings for subscribers along the way? I find them interesting when other Substack writers have them.
