What you write is revolting, and, of course, true. I do take issue with one of your definitions, however: "Projection is a hallmark of the MAGA personality: they assume everyone operates by their own lowest urges." I have been banging on about Trump's projections since he opened his mouth. The actual psychiatric definition of projecting refers to "unconsciously taking unwanted emotions or traits about yourself and attributing them to someone else." This from Karen R. Koenig, M. Ed, LCSW.

I just found a brilliant, if bilious, example of projection: this is Trump speaking of Biden. (Have a sick bag handy.)

"Trump argued that Biden’s presidency was marked by “weakness, incompetence, corruption and failure."

Love this one! The projection syndrome has long fascinated me and seeing it so blatantly demonstrated in T World would be hilarious if it weren’t terrifying. It’s time people paid attention to this…sharing…

well said.

As for "projecting," Trump has been projecting since Day One.

Lyin Ted Cruz, Crooked Hillary, Crazy Bernie - he must be looking in the mirror when he plays his name-calling game. Now he says Biden is mentally unfit. I'm waiting for the day he says Biden wears too much makeup.

While he claims Dems "rigged" the election, but currently he's got teams of election-deniers taking up positions as election officers/supervisors/certifiers.

Some of his apologists are even calling Biden a Fascist.

Tim Snyder coined the term “schizo-fascism: where people who are unambiguously fascist refer to others as fascist.”

Projection is common currency for Trump and his apologists, and yet millions of Americans fall for it and repeat the lies and absurdities. I guess they WANT to believe it, and can't admit they made a mistake, even when faced with evidence and reality. They prefer Kellyanne Conway's infamous "alternative facts."
